1. What we mean by cookies
Cookies are small files a site stores on your device. BarterX also uses the browser’s local storage and session storage for the same kinds of essential jobs. This policy covers all of those.
2. Essential storage we use
- Sign-in session: so you stay logged in when you reopen the app (Supabase Auth in local storage).
- Temporary sign-up / Google return: short-lived session storage so we can finish creating an account or send you back to the page you wanted.
- Cookie notice: a local flag so we do not keep showing the same notice after you tap Got it.
These are strictly necessary. The app cannot keep you signed in without them. We do not use them to advertise to you.
3. What we do not use
- Advertising or retargeting cookies
- Social media tracking pixels on BarterX pages
- Analytics cookies that identify you across other websites (beyond what our host may log to serve the site)
4. Third parties
If you sign in with Google, Google may set its own cookies on Google’s pages. WhatsApp, if you open support chat, is outside BarterX. Their policies apply on those sites.
5. How to control storage
You can clear site data in your browser or installed-app settings. After that you will need to sign in again. Blocking all storage will prevent login.
